The Nordan 2025 British Handball Super Cup delivered another weekend of high-stakes action at Edinburgh’s Oriam Sports Performance Centre. The best teams from England and Scotland clashed in fierce battles, not just for the title, but for a coveted European club competition qualification.

It was a dominant weekend for English handball, as both the men’s and women’s finals served up thrilling rematches of the EHA Premier Handball League Finals, a short two weeks after their last high-stakes showdowns.

The semi-finals set the tone for an exciting finals weekend. In the women’s matches, West London Eagles dominated Tryst 77 32-13 while Loughborough proved too strong for Edinburgh in a 31-15 victory. The men’s competition saw tighter contests, with defending champions London GD edging past East Kilbride 82 31-28, while Oxford secured their final berth with a convincing 38-26 win against Kelvinside

Unfortunately for West London Eagles and London GD, it was a final of déjà vu.
Loughborough cemented their dominance in the Women’s Super Cup final, defending their title with a commanding 30-21 victory over the Eagles. The win completed a historic treble, capping off a spectacular season in style.

In the men’s final, Oxford dethroned defending champions London GD in a nail-biting 38-36 shootout, closing out a phenomenal season with their first Super Cup triumph.

The placement games delivered nail-biting finishes right to the end. In the women’s bronze medal clash, Tryst 77 snatched the final podium spot with a hard-fought 20-17 victory over Edinburgh. Meanwhile, East Kilbride 82 edged out Kelvinside 30-26 in a tense men’s battle. From buzzer-beaters to momentum swings, these matchups proved just as dramatic as the finals themselves.
These results, along with the overall success of the event, provide a solid platform for the sport’s continued growth. With clubs now building on this momentum and young players inspired by what they’ve seen, British handball appears well-positioned to progress further in the coming seasons
