England Handball is delighted to announce the appointment of Annica Farley as the new South Development Officer.
Annica has been a valued part of the England Handball Association since 2018, initially joining as a tutor before stepping into the role of Development Coach in 2023. Alongside her work with the Association, she is the Head Coach and Chair of Bishop’s Stortford Handball Club, where she takes a hands-on role coaching players from as young as four years old.
Her dedication to grassroots growth has seen her establish and run after-school handball clubs in the local area, leading to strong results in the National Schools Competition. In 2024, she became a Regional Academy Coach, and for the past three years she has also supported the Great Britain Women’s U17 squad as Team Manager.
Speaking on her new role, Annica said:
“I’m thrilled to have been offered this new role and look forward to working with clubs, schools, and community organisations to help develop and promote handball.”
Harriet Barker, National Manager for Club and Community Development at England Handball, added:
“We’re really excited to have Annica take on this role. Her passion for handball and her proven track record in coaching, development, and leadership make her an incredible asset to the team. I’m looking forward to seeing the positive impact she will have in the South region and the opportunities she will help create for players, clubs, and schools.”
This appointment comes at a crucial time for England Handball’s development work. The Association is committed to building strong pathways for clubs, schools, and communities, ensuring that the sport continues to grow at all levels.
