We are delighted to welcome Pete to our team as he takes on a new role within coach development.
Pete brings with him over twenty years of experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing coaches across a wide range of sports. He has designed and delivered coach development programmes and worked on a one-to-one basis with coaches to help them progress, strengthen their practice, and ultimately enhance the sporting experiences of players at every level.
For eight years, Pete managed the Talented Coaches Programme in Nottinghamshire, supporting a generation of coaches in their development journey. More recently, his expertise has been sought across national governing bodies, including the ECB, British Rowing, the R&A, and England Golf, where he continues to play a key role in coach development.
Alongside his professional work, Pete has just completed an MSc in Coach Development at Leeds Beckett University, ensuring his approach is firmly grounded in the latest research and evidence. He also remains active as a coach himself, working on the women and girls’ talent pathway at Nottinghamshire CCC, giving him valuable on-the-ground experience that informs his wider work.
Speaking about his new role, Pete said:
“Really excited to be joining England Handball as Coaching and Workforce Development Manager, looking forward to working with the brilliant team and supporting our amazing coaches and volunteers.
I’ve been fortunate to work across a few sports and hope I can bring ideas from different environments and add value to the existing resources and support that are in place.“
Pete’s wealth of knowledge, combined with his passion for supporting coaches, will be an exciting asset as we continue to grow and strengthen our workforce. We look forward to the impact he will bring to our community and the positive influence his expertise will have on players and coaches alike.
Please join us in giving Pete a very warm welcome to the team!
