Dear Members,
We’re pleased to announce that applications are now open for England Handball’s new Clubs and Competitions Committee. The Committee has been created to strengthen the connection between our clubs and competitions, the England Handball Executive and the Board, and to ensure that the experience and perspectives of the wider handball community are reflected in the development of the game.
The Committee will provide a regular forum for members to discuss and explore proposals, raise emerging issues, share ideas and provide constructive challenge.
It will have a particular focus on the issues that matter to clubs and competitions, including:
- Competition structures and formats
- Club development and sustainability
- Participation and player pathways
- Officiating
- Rules and regulations
- Wider feedback from clubs and the handball community
The Committee will also play an important role in helping to shape the future direction of handball in England. Members will have the opportunity to bring their knowledge and experience to the table, identify opportunities and challenges, and contribute to the development of England Handball’s strategic and operational priorities. We are looking to appoint seven to ten members who collectively bring a broad range of knowledge, skills and experience from across the handball community.
We want the Committee to reflect the diversity of our clubs, competitions and members, and we therefore encourage applications from anyone who feels they can make a positive contribution. You do not need to have been involved in the previous Development Advisory Group to apply. We are looking for people who are willing to share their experience, listen to different perspectives, work constructively with others and help us continue to develop the game.
The Committee will complement, rather than replace, the regular conversations and engagement that England Handball has with clubs and members. It will provide an additional route through which ideas, experience and constructive challenge can help inform the decisions and priorities that affect our sport.
